The Netcohort Society Rediscovers Integrity
The small teams of the netcohort will attract and judge recruits based on reputation.
Integrity, along with other virtues, has eroded as the industrial age has matured and aged. It is not a fault particularly of industry, but of the success of all large organizations. The big four -- industry, government, unions, and education have all become bureaucracies focused more on their sustenance, power. and growth than on serving their constituents.
As the industrial age deflates and eventually collapses integrity will
continue to increase in importance. The large bureaucracies thrived on
the value of large scale, sacrificing the individual to improve societal
efficiency. We are thankfully entering a new age based on empowering technologies
for the individual.
These increasingly independent individuals will likely create a society
based on highly mobile Netcohort teams of relationship oriented entrepreneurs.
The liberating influence of integrity and a good reputation have receded
to become the shrouded and secret powers of prior generations. Once again
the most successful will be those whose word is their bond.
The mass produced degrees of the late industrial age will be of little
value. The absolute values you maintain will be of considerable worth.
This is like Saturday morning at the school
grounds.
Fifty kids show up to play baseball - the best know best eighteen players are selected. the others go home. There is no appeal. There is no adult to insure "Fairness." The right number is selected - no others need apply. The goal is the joy of playing to win.
Consider a serial entrepreneur about to start a new business. If he is
wise, he will call together the best people he can trust and get started.
Others may occasionally be added to the team - by direct knowledge, or
sometimes by referral from a trusted team member. When the project is
done the group disperses to other projects - knowing more about each other
and their capabilities.
Reputations grow with performance. Failure and errors are expected - but
growth from the learning discovered is also expected.
Relationships and reputations are the basis of team selection. If you
lack integrity you will not be invited, if invited you will not be asked
back, you will not be referred to another group. You will go home.
When everything was big - everyone was assumed to lie. Herds of lawyers
confirmed deals with contracts - and then herds of lawyers broke the contracts.
The netcohort society works on reputation - you said it - you will do it. If you fail for good reasons, everyone learns and we keep moving. Business in the Netcohort Society is transacted with a hand shake, a "yes I will" over the phone, or a nod of the head.
If someone fails and offers weak excuses, they will get cut from the team.
They will not get a chance at the next juicy project.
Denial and excuses do not bring success - success is uncovered by resolving failure and improving.
Personal relationships.
Personal responsibility.
Personal integrity.
Consistently trying to do life the right way. The selection of who will make the team is based on many elements, some of which are -- knowledge, adaptability, initiative, performance, and integrity.
The time to prepare is now. Become part of the Netcohort. Rediscover the pleasures of self directed learning
and the joys of playing to win.
Rewards will come with dedication to your own unwaveringly high standard.
Why not do your best?
" We cannot but be astonished at the ease with which men resign themselves to ignorance about what is most important for them to know; and we may be certain that they are determined to remain invincibly ignorant if they once come to consider it as axiomatic that there are no absolute principles." - Claude Frédéric Bastiat
